It answers a retailer-level question: which shops publish a range that reaches a requested U.S. numeric size, or offer custom measurements? It does not claim that an individual style, color, or size is currently in stock.
The separate live-stock endpoint answers one narrower item-level question from Universal Standard's current first-party catalog: which Occasion Dresses variants are marked available in the exact mapped option for even U.S. sizes 22 through 40? Use?size=22through?size=40; an omitted size defaults to 40. It is cached for 15 minutes, fails closed when the source cannot be verified, and returns direct evidence URLs only. Availability is not a reservation, fit guarantee, delivery promise, or return-eligibility claim.
