Setting up with Highlight
This MCP is not yet compatible with Highlight’s one-click setup. However, you can still use it with Highlight by following these steps:
- Download and install Highlight from highlightai.com/download
- Navigate to the plugins tab and select "Add Custom Plugin"

- Enable "Start Automatically" if you want the plugin to start when Highlight launches
From the repository
Install via npm install, set the FALAI_API_KEY environment variable, and add the server to your mcpServers configuration. Start the server in STDIO mode (default) or REST mode with optional --port and --endpoint flags.

Installation
1. Clone the repository:
git clone [repository-url]
cd mcp-falai
2. Install dependencies:
npm install
3. Configure environment variables:
Create a .env file with the following content:
FALAI_API_KEY=your_fal_ai_key_here

Starting the Server
The server can run in two modes:
1. STDIO mode (default):
npm start
2. REST mode:
npm start -- --mode=rest --port=9593 --endpoint=/rest

- prompt (required): Text description of the image to generate
- style (optional): Image style (default: "ghibli-style")
