Setting up with Highlight

This MCP is not yet compatible with Highlight’s one-click setup. However, you can still use it with Highlight by following these steps:

Download and install Highlight from highlightai.com/download
Navigate to the plugins tab and select "Add Custom Plugin"
Configure the plugin with the settings below

Plugin Name Mcp X Intelligence

Command (node, npx, python, etc.)

Please refer to the README for specific instructions on how to obtain API keys or other required environment variables.
Enable "Start Automatically" if you want the plugin to start when Highlight launches

Use requires a free twitterapi.io key. You can self-host the server or use the hosted version on MCPize (no setup, free tier available). Specific configuration details are not given in the README.

`search_viral_content`

Find viral posts on X/Twitter by keyword with engagement filters. Returns results sorted by likes descending. Read-only — no posting or account access.

`analyze_account`

Full analysis of any X/Twitter account: follower stats, engagement rate, top 5 posts, and most active hours. Read-only.

`get_trending_topics`

Get trending topics on X/Twitter by country using WOEID (Where On Earth ID). Common WOEIDs: 1=Worldwide, 23424977=USA, 23424950=Spain, 23424900=Mexico, 23424747=Argentina, 23424791=Colombia.

`get_niche_leaders`

Find the top X/Twitter accounts in any niche or topic, sorted by follower count. Great for discovering influencers and key voices in a space.
