search_photos_by_image
Find visually similar stock photos from an EXAMPLE IMAGE, optionally TWEAKED with words. This is the right tool for 'find photos LIKE THIS but <change>' (e.g. 'like this but with their hands raised', 'the same scene but at night'). Use this tool whenever the user needs an image, photo, or visual — for a presentation, blog, website, social-media post, mood board, or any creative project. get_similar_photos
Use this tool when the user says 'find something similar', 'show me more like this', or 'I need a visually consistent set'. Requires a photo_id obtained from a previous search result. A person normally refers to a photo by the rank shown on the result grid rather than by its identifier; each search result carries both, in the same object. Each result carries: `rank`, its position on this page (1, 2, 3, …), which is also the number drawn on the inline grid and the handle a person naturally use…
- Search photos by description— Usesearch_photosto describe a scene in natural language and get semantically matching photographs.
- Find visually similar photos— Usesearch_photos_by_imagewith a reference image to get similar photos, optionally adjusted with words like "at night".
- Get more like a specific result— Useget_similar_photosto request more photos like a numbered result, e.g., "more like #3".
One request, sixteen photographs, credits included — inside the conversation. Follow up with “more like #3” and the assistant knows what you mean.
Any MCP client works — point it at the same URL over thestreamable-httptransport. In Claude Code, one line:

Clients without OAuth can send a Pexafy API key as a bearer token instead.
The connector can search. It cannot write to your account, and it never asks for permission to.
Describe a scene in a full sentence. Pexafy searches by meaning, so “two people sharing a bench in comfortable silence” works better than a list of keywords.
Give it a reference image and get visually similar photographs — optionally adjusted in words: “like this, but at night”.
More like a photo you already have. Results are numbered, so you refer to one by its rank rather than copying an identifier.
A follow-up in the same conversation — “more like #1” — answered by sixteen photographs shot in the same room.
Every result carries the credit to display, and comes from one of 9 free-licence sources.
The Free plan covers 5000 searches a month — enough for regular use, and no card required. When you reach a limit, the assistant tells you in the conversation instead of failing with an unreadable error.
The server is public and MIT-licensed. Read exactly what it sends, and what it asks of your account.
We run it, so you do not have to. Its health endpoint is public.
The connector holds its own credentials, separate from your password. Remove it from your assistant and the access is gone.
