Setting up with Highlight

This MCP is not yet compatible with Highlight’s one-click setup. However, you can still use it with Highlight by following these steps:

  1. Download and install Highlight from highlightai.com/download
  2. Navigate to the plugins tab and select "Add Custom Plugin"
  3. Configure the plugin with the settings below
    Plugin Name Portkey MCP Server
    Command (node, npx, python, etc.)

    Please refer to the README for specific instructions on how to obtain API keys or other required environment variables.

  4. Enable "Start Automatically" if you want the plugin to start when Highlight launches

From the repository

Install from source by cloning the repository, running npm install, setting your PORTKEY_API_KEY in a .env file, and adding the server to your Claude Desktop configuration. Alternatively, install automatically via Smithery using npx -y @smithery/cli install @r-huijts/portkey-admin-mcp-server --client claude.

Installation

From Source

1. Clone this repository 2. Install dependencies:
npm install
3. Copy the example environment file:
cp .env.example .env
4. Add your Portkey API key to the .env file:
PORTKEY_API_KEY=your_portkey_api_key_here
5. Then update your Claude configuration file:

Make sure to:
- Replace /path/to/portkey-server with the actual path to your installation
- Add your Portkey API key in the env section

After updating the configuration, restart Claude Desktop for the changes to take effect.
